Director of the CIA??WTH

(CNN) –

David Petraeus has resigned as director of the CIA.

In a statement issued Friday, he said: ” After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours. This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation.”

The first comment says "How convenient that he was supposed to testify about 4 dead Americans in Libya in two weeks?

I thought all generals had affairs. What's the big deal?
If he's willing to admit it, he isn't a security risk.

The first comment shows the stupidity of the one making the comment. If called to testify he will still have to do so, regardless whether he's the director.

I'm not sure why news sites allow for comments. Some of the most asinine, brain-dead, ignorant non-thinkers anywhere can be found posting in those comment sections.

He's at that age where a pretty girl can tempt a man.
It was a girl he had the affair with I assume?
Because his wife looks like an ugly man with a wig on.

Although she'd have been a babe when she was younger.

Yet another victim of bigotry.

If the guy is the most competent we have for the position, I really don't care where his dick has been, unless it were an illegal and reprehensible act. Cheating might be morally wrong, but it's not engaging in a criminal activity.

Ah but leaders should be held to higher standards! Really? It's justifiable to be a sleeze when you're not a leader?

Do we want every cheating CEO to leave their post in the name of morality?

We'd be in a even more socialist country.

I apologize for my insensitivity.

The problem is blackmail. The CIA could care less about the morality of the situation. They just don't want their personnel compromised.

My theory about it though is the Administration sent a messenger to the General saying "...we know about this affair. Keep your mouth shut when you testify before Congress."

The General told them to "F*** Off" and resigned.

LoL..Beat me to it. As if the masters of plausible deniability could give a rats about morality.. unless it's about to come round and bite them on the arse. Patraeus being the man he is it would not make a difference before Congress resignation or not so I see no conspiracy.
