How financially secure is US Airways?

Well? How close are they to Chapter 11 or non-existence at all???

They have a deal on at the moment which basically sees a F class SYD-LHR ticket at $1400AUD (just unheard of) by very careful use of FF points, but if they are millimeters away from collapse, I will save the $....

What about US Airways?

I just got off the plane 2 hours ago coming back from Orange County, CA.

Buy the ticket or you will regret for the rest of your life.

Chapter 11 is protection from creditors, so if they have debts they are more likely to continue flying if it's implemented.

It is not buying a ticket, but FF points - then finding a FF ticket.

I understand, but often when a company seeks liquidation protection, things like FF programs will not be honoured.

Could be worse. Could be Swiss Air back in 2001....

Haha, or Kiwi Rail? That's another good one...

I'm not too bad getting ready to graduate in December so am looking for a job. I've got a couple of interviews for grad programs but that's from about 20 or so applications.

If I get really stuck I can head back to uni and do post grad but I'm about ready to bolt from uni. I can smell the real world.

good luck, you'll be fine, the NZ economy is not in too bad shape, you could always head to HK or Singapore for a bit.

Yeah my CV is strong so I'm sure I will end up with something. Singapore is something that has been mentioned to me by a few people but with a serious girlfriend who still has a year to go at university my wings are clipped there.

I'm pretty sure that I will be joining the many thousands of Kiwis living overseas at some stage though.

How are you? When we last spoke you were just finishing up law?
