You are running opposite the herd. Keep that up and you will accumulate wealth and people will envy and despise you. They will accuse you of being heartless and uncaring about the unfortunate people who, through-no-fault-of-their-own live in misery. You will be looked upon as a capitalist pig. Do you really want that?

Buy lots of shiny things. Amass some debt. Go have some out of wedlock children. Get with the program.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and thats what I intend to reverse.

No. Even an interst rate of 0.0001% is considered riba.

You are doing the right thing. The best choice you can make after that is being sure the woman you want to marry (one day) thinks the same way.

Thanks, we’ll keep that in mind when we go back to the horse and buggy.
As usury preceded both the horse and buggy era and Islam, maybe we should give something different a try. Islamic financial solutions can be one good option. Islamic banks here were the least affected by the current financial crisis.

Some bank in the US was trying to do Islamic friendly loans by jacking the total amount of the loan by the total interest that would normally be charged. They would peanut butter it over the term of the loan and call it zero interest. Sounds like compound fracture interest. Somehow they get away from calling the additional money "interest".

I don't know what these banks do. You might find this informative: Islamic banking - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

We also have to bail out business that fucked-up. Thereby punishing people who did everything right by forrcing them to subsidize the bad behavior of others.

This is what we call "compassion" in the topsy-turvy world of Washington politics.
And get this,

the only crisis the current Democratic administration is not bailing out is the HEALTH CARE CRISIS.

Bankers ? Check
Life insurance ? Check
Auto companies ? Check
Health Care industry ? Sorry, we have to draw the deficit line somewhere.

... and this important discussion continues.
