Have any of you bleeding hearts ever considered that they may be protecting this kid from what might happen to him if he were let out?

If he has done this before, what makes you think he won't do it again, and to more little kids?
The amount of time he's sentenced to is irrelevant, if he were given 6 months, the parents, neighbors, and friends of the kid he messed with would be waiting for him, and would see to it tht he never did anything like that again. Would that be better?
With a long sentence, if he ever improves, he stands a chance of getting out, if he doesn’t improve, he’s taken care of for the rest of his life. He’s NOT going to end up in the general population, not even Texas would do that.

You are the only one here who seems to know precisely what he did. Please elaborate.

What percentage of people in prison today are truly able to rehabilitate? Mental illness drives much of the population and rehab won't cure it. What percentage are in an actual rehabilitation program within the walls that has a success rate? Angola prison is the only one that comes to mind with a positive record. Compare the rate of rehabilitation with the percent of convicts that could actually benefit. Neither would be more than 20%.

Mental illness needs to be the focus.

Maybe you can point out exactly where I said I knew what he did? The fact is that he was convicted, therefore he is guilty. From that point on he (or his lawyer) has to show otherwise.

How about the victim of this guys actions, why is it you and apparently no one else has considered them, doesn’t what he has done matter?
The poor victim has to live with what this person has done to them for the rest of their life, while the dim wit just moves on and does it again if he feels like it. Of course he doesn't know any better so it's OK...

If you don't know what he did, what are you talking about here? What is "this"? What is "it"? What is "that"?

Instant replay:
Bruce: God help us if he does this again!
GS: Does what again?
Bruce: I don't know

See Post #27. I'm sorry, but it is foolish to comment on I know not what. That is the purview of questions.

See post #15, it might help explain.

Charged, found guilty, and sentenced. If that is beyond you, sorry.

Again, it seems like you're more worried about the perp than the victim, why?
