No one is criticizing the use of a teleprompter during a SPEECH. Buuuut, during a press conference and everywhere you go? Surely you can acknowledge something's a little odd about that? Talking about a President that appears to be someone's puppet.
Obama doesn't use them during press conferences [except for the speech part at the front], same as everyone else. He uses them at fundraisers, just like Newt or McCain or W or everyone else.
I watched Bill Gates give a small talk to 50 late last year. It was no more than 12-15 minutes and it was on a subject he knew cold. He used teleprompters. Now, when I first saw him talk back in 1986 he did not. And he would tangent. Incredibly bright, would think of something in the middle of the speech and go with it. Great info, not so good for the speech. A few years later I was at a small dinner and there were about 100. Teleprompter. Now, most consider Gates to be one of the brightest folks on the planet. Yet he uses teleprompters even when around the group of folks that have been with him since the beginning, when he is doing research dumps and forward looks. Apparently he also figured out that ALL OF HIS WORDS are very important and it is just best to nail them to the wall first time every time. It's just a different strategery.
YES, Obama uses them, just like everyone else when prepared remarks are used. That is why most folks on the left find this so amusing and such an archtypical nit, as it makes no F'ing sense. When we see things like this, we next expect a complaint that he also breaths.
It made national news [and the subject of this post] simply because of the OCD TOTUS website, and made fun of it, not because Obama uses a teleprompter.
As for being a puppet, NO. I consider it more of being a control freak. He wants it right.
