I live in the far n/w burbs. 10 miles from wisconsin and 25 miles off the lake

Driving through Chicago sucks. Avoid it at all costs, if going somewhere on the outskirts use 1-94, and then I-290 (toll). Avoid downtown. Even the I-290 is under some construction, but it is a better option if you don't have to go downtown. AVOID THE SKYWAY!
