Makes me sick to see that. MB really needs to police these scumbags as they are ruining the already lackluster brand image. I'd like to buy that guy a Molson.

The essence, which got lost in "the war of the wits", is that this happened in Vancouver. That's Canada, aint it? Well, a fellow from Alberta said that dealing with his MB franchise is like talking to the wall and the dealer sets the rules and treats customers like dirt. From Ontario and Quebec Provinces we only hear about abuse of prices.
I am convinced the US' consumer is better protected and there is such a competition from the huge market that allows him not to have to take all that crap, if he realizes the manouver. Nevertheless, there is a new one born every minute, so the dealers stay fat.
The only thing that teaches the dealers and they fear is a hit to their wallet.

Cheers, JV

PS: By the way, the whole thing may have been a farse. A busy guy, specially if of means, would complain through his attorney, or per se in writing. He would not waste so much time for nothing, unless there was a second agenda.

Here we have NEOKEN attempting to stimulate some discourse on the evils of MB dealerships, and you have to start a pissing contest which you seem to get into in every darn thread.

I deleted my post on account of your post below.

And that should have been the end of it but noooo..... you have to take a final piss.

I am laughing loudly.

As some of you know, I had a problem with my convertible top, it did not work.

I brought the car to MB dealership and was told that converible pump and motor needed to be replaced. Total cost: parts $4,500 + labor.

Several months later I ended up at the independednt MB shop in SF.

They checked all the could, couldn't find any computer codes etc.

It was a faulty 30AMP 12V relay. New one is $65 from MB, $6 from the parts store.

Of course I need to pay for the diagnostic and labor, so it is more than $6. But it is not $4,500.

Someone needs to teach stealerships a lesson.

That's why you should always fix the car yourself. Oh, uh, wait. Never mind.
