So that I have a better understanding, do you have an issue with the Christian values or the Christian themselves.
If you have an issue with the Christian values which offends you the most?
Is it the serving others, the being a good steward of time, talents and finances. One of the very, very basic belief is that no is perfect, no man is without flaw. When either side loses focus on that fact, its easy to through the stones. Secularist are flawed and Christians are flawed period and ignorance knows no bounds.
A question that might provoke some thought is what establishes "good" or "moral". There has to be some fundamental understanding of right and wrong. What defines it.
For the vast majority, it is the fundamental teachings of the bible (whether people acknowledge it or not). This extends far outside the church.
Comments that you have made would lead one to conclude that you believe that the 1st Ammendment should only be interpreted as from FROM religion.
In regard to the Theory of Evolution. This is a debate that no one will win. The Christian believe of Creation requires faith, the Theory of Evolution has made no progress since it's initial release in Darwin's Origins of the Species. Hence the reason it is still a Theory and not a Law. Although it is presented as fact in the public school.
I would equate you last statement to a speed limit. Yes many Christians profess their faith but their action are not always in line (I am no exception as I am human as well as a Christian), but this is like considering yourself to be a law abiding driver but regularly drive in excess of the speed limit.
Yes, the discovery of a 47 million year old ape fossil last week represents no progress at all in evolutionary theory, and the earlier discovery of a flying dinosaur with feathers was also an big disappointment for evolutionary theory. Sir, are you aware the Einsteinian Relativity is also a "theory"? How dare they teach it in school! Meanwhile, the Science of Creationism continues to advance, with the discovery of a Tyranosaur with an ark timber up his ass. Such a tragic accident, no wonder they didn't make it.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
