As far as sat tv goes, I am in the same boat (dishnet).
90% of the channels paid for, are never being watched.
Dishnet doesn't have the sundance channel (used to be available on cable), at least I still get the independent film ch.
The Euro channel offers European Films (50% French), and PBS still has some good mysteries.
The German programming I get is a total rip off, $ 25 for 2 mediocre channels, Deutsche Welle admittedly has good and informative programming in German and English, and also Euro News (where you pick one of 10 or so dubbed languages).
Being a lifelong formula one nut, I had to go to a higher cost package in order to get the speed channel.
I hope an a la carte service will be available soon.
