Yes, and that is your error. Family indicates an extended extraordinary bond between parent and young after offspring reach maturity. Family has no meaning outside of social groups, and the vast majority of mammals are not social. Simians, hominids, canids, cetaceans, and a handful of oddballs (lions, meerkats, etc.), that's about it, the rest are solitary players and unorganized congregations which raise their young, then move along. Even herding herbivores (bovines, equines) typically demonstrate no strong ties to their own young once parental responsibilities have concluded.
I'm also not talking about the bond post-maturity. It's not an 'error'; I don't think you and I are talking about the same thing, meaning we interpreted what Bot was going on about differently.

But now that we can clearly differentiate the two functions of sex it makes the taboo on homosexual sex completely moot.
Also, it freed women to live by choice (and biology) rather than by biology alone. this dissolved the taboo of women in the workforce and has undermined the male-dominant culture of most of the developed world.
Whatever we may think of these sea-changes, they are a fact of life in our time.
So tell me, what is it about single or dual parent households that is markedly superior to polygynous or polygamous or homosexual households?
Procreation cannot be excluded from family. Nowhere in nature is this the case. What Bot seems to be asserting is that the entire model of "family" is failing, because of the advent of the pill.
I just think it's, at best, a very carelessly worded statement. At worst, it's lunacy.
