Don't twist my words.

Exactly how was the price of fuel affected your appetite for Super Unleaded? Is he AMG now running biofuel?

Non-sequitur. The price of every physical product we consume is affected by the price of the fuel used to get it to us. The amount of that impact to me may be less than for others, but it's no less true, and no less repulsive that gamblers are allowed to profit on the backs of all of us - especially those least able to afford their indulgences.

My carbon footprint is tiny compared to most here whining about whether a gallon of gas costs $2 or $3.

Where would you prefer U.S. Wealth to be exported to?

Transportation costs are a huge issue when it comes to oil prices, but also worthy of mention are the non-fuel uses for petroleum. How much plastic do we consume in North America? Oil gets used in all kinds of stuff that isn't automotive related.

^ Recycling efforts mitigate some of that, but you're right, it's definitely a component as well.

If we had to pay $4 for a 20 oz. bottle of water, or suddenly had water bills at home leap up nearly 300%, just because speculators were driving up the prices of it, there'd be a goddamned revolution.

There's a reason that water isn't traded as a commodity. Oil should be treated the same way.

Are you talking about Condoms, maybe you should cut back on the usage of them to help the cause.........

I have this fun little daydream that pops up once in a while. The world has transportation that requires no fuel (flux capacitor?) and the Saudis are paying us a $1k/bushel of wheat. Oh yeah, the price doubles after Ramadan.
