Quite reliable. See if they'll throw in 6 or 7 replacement stop lamp switches, shift modules, trunk sensors, MAFs and if you get the cabrio, a few pumps to make the roof go up and down. You'll need 'em.

The car like any other required a lot of money to maintain upkeep and what I had spent on that car would have easily been enought to maintain a W140 S600, so I lost out big time, but I did manage to make the car run really well and the 16v interior really felt good. I'm so happy that car is out of my life.

Well, not really. I've gone through a couple of brake lamp switches and trunk sensors and 1 MAF all of which are cheap and an easy diy. If you spill a teaspoon of liquid on the shift module it will more than likely fail, again an easy diy but about $500 for the part. I've been very happy with this car so far but several people on my board have had to change the tranny which is around $4000 without labor. All in all it's a nice car and depreciation is abhorrent which is a good thing for your friend.

I was thinking CLK, either coupe or cabrio. I really don't know how well these cars have been holding up or any of the trouble spots, so any advice is really appreciated. If there is a different model that anyone would like to recommend I'd love to hear about too.

I did a search and found some CLK 230 Kompressor Cabrios with a 6 Speed transmission. Would this be a good model? What years would be best? If this engine choice is not good than which one(s) would be best? Is the 200 Kompressor too weak and is the 320 not necessary?

Thank you in advance.

I found some pics of a UK spec car:

What's the deal with the faggoty shoe prints ?
