Good point GS, but this is Asia and things change by the second, so I will wait and see what the morning brings. They have every reason, just now, to keep that stability going.

So, lets consider the unthinkable and China makes us really, really mad. Can we just pretend the loans from China did not exist? How were they secured?

Now for reality. WW0D? I think it would would be the high point of any POTUS' career to pull off the pacifization of NK with the help of the ChiComs. OK, Barry, you are the man of the hour! Whatcha gonna do?

But....But....But it seems like just yesterday that

"President Bush personally declared that North Korea is no longer a state sponsor of terrorism or an enemy of the United States."

It's bigger than that. If China makes us "really, really mad", Americans may stop buying Chinese goods. China has a plan, a good plan, and they are executing it to perfection. The Chinese are also a people of great patience. I don't believe they will do anything to risk their long term goals of prosperity.

Now that is the best piece of common sense I have read tonight but now off to bed see you all in the morrow.
