When you swear in, you are considered military property. You are on duty 24/7, but you may have free time. You are also under a different legal system than civilians.
That is explained and stressed to recruits.
If you want to be an evangelist, and a missionary to foreign lands, pick another career path. This doesn't preclude interaction with others in the ranks, however, but it does in specific locations.
Understand I am of christian ilk and support evangelism, but there is a time and a place. That is in Gods time, by the way, and he doesn't condone breaking laws, thus not the time. Maybe in Europe or other lands where 'no' general order is in place.
Still disagree on the taking of personal items, McBear. And I am sure it is specific to each situation.
