Got rid of the 300E today

And bought a 2009 Jeep Liberty 4x2 certified pre-owned with 12,300 on the clock. Very nice vehicle! Black with charcoal fabric interior, all the usual amenities, no nav. Very good deal at $17k (I think).

Yeah, I think it was time. It had 198500 on the clock and was $500ing me to death. The radiator light just came on yesterday, the aux fans shorted out, and it needed front rotors and pads. I loved the car and it was very comfortable and a pleasure to drive, but I was getting a feeling that it was going to cost me a couple grand in the next few months. I just regret having spent $500 on new tires a month ago!

Oh dear....oh dearodearodearodear. A Jeep???!? Traded in for a Jeep? I can see getting rid of a money pit, but you do that because you want to STOP hemorrhaging money, not start hemorrhaging more.

Good night Irene....

Well hopefully it won't be a problem, but I have a 80,000 mile 8 year bumper to bumper warranty, so I should be OK. I hope! I've never owned a Jeep before, but the people I know who have are very loyal to the brand.

^ Yeah, that's some kind of contagious disease I think. Two friends of mine have gone through about 9 or 10 of them in total in a 6 year period. They're so bad, they aspire merely to be as good as a Land Rover (ask Shane).

If only you were member of some kind of, I dunno, on-line fraternity maybe, where the cumulative experience of dozens of good-hearted people could have been tapped to avoid such a situation.... j/k

Just wondering, woodsjeep, why you would choose a 4x2? Isn't the whole Jeep thing built around the Rubicon experience?

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Is "rubicon" a Native American term meaning "lose all your money and go nowhere"?
