Cheney has eight years of experience dealing with the problem, with outstanding results. Your boy has been at it for what, four months, and all he's done is flub his campaign promise to close Gitmo without a plan. Now he has his own party agreeing with the Repubs not to fund anything until a plan is presented. There is a growing majority of folks that do not want the detainees to step on our soil. This will become soon either Obama governing against the will of the people or a complete rejection of his plan.

The polarized rhetoric has reached such an entrenched state that the chance of reaching a satisfactory compromise solution is dwindling.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and thatís what I intend to reverse.

It is laughable how this fear mongering works. What are these guys 50 ft tall? Are they supermen? Do you really believe that these people are going to be let loose in the general population? We have presently thousands of extremely dangerous prisoners housed in maximum security facilites, from which there is practically no way to escape and you are telling me that we cannot safely imprison 200 or so people?

Since one of the subgroups is the detainees who can not be released, won't be accepted abroad and can't be tried, once they are logged into Supermax you can bet your ass that some reckless lawyer, who wants to make a name for himself will start the process to freedom. Obama is trying to bring these guys back into the criminal justice system, taking them out of the military justice. That same lawyer will soon claim the detainees were kidnapping victims. You don't want that crap.

Thousands of extremely dangerous thugs with no ideology will make an undisciplined mob. 19 extremely dangerous thugs with an ideology can change the world.

Once on American soil the folks from Gitmo have all of the rights of the accused common criminal. Putting ideological thugs into the general prison population of a supermax prison will result in radicalization of some proportion of the inmates. Some proportion of them will eventually go back into the general prison population -- in the legal system, it is the norm to encourage parole.

I believe that you have used your head for something other than a hatrack Ol' Buddy!

Hey! If you have to bring them to the US then I will take them............... as long as I can shoot them for attempted escape without having a bunch of crybaby dickheads watering my lawn.

Now just how many are we talking about?
