It sounds cool, sly. A number of years back, we took the cracked, torn and partly missing original photo of SWMBO's father in his U.S.N. uniform, complete with submariner's insignia to a specialist who restored photos for the Smithsonian. They had to research what would have been on his sleeve where the photo was damaged and brought it back to life. It cost nearly a grand but she was happy.
