If I were to say I would patronize only white owned businesses, I would be called a racist. Why is there no outrage?
I have been called worse by not
patronizing some businesses.
I guess, once you or your race have become a victim, you can get away with anything because you can play the sympathy card every time and it works. Look at Israel with the Holocaust thing, African Americans with the slavery thing. Although these happened a long time ago and today these things should not matter, these things i do not believe will go away. They will never be called racists and the term "reverse racism" today even is laughed upon although it is very real.
Playing the devil's advocate, I can see something good coming out of this from the African American society. On the whole, there are very few models, very few people to look up to, very few role models in the black community IMO. Very few Obama-like families exist. Most of the men aged 18-38 years, unfortunately rot in prison (I don't remember the exact percent but it is extremely high!). Maybe this will bring a sense of pride?
I don't know. If it does anything to benefit them, then I would support it, in fact, I would take part in it. However, I would need to see some results of this study/experiment.
Sly's comments definitely make sense to me.
