Duh, the incidents are part of the same war.

Try not to lump emotions into logical equations. Our economy has more to do with the price of oil than anything that happened in Iraq.
Delirious my ass. Guess who gets paid for rebuilding the pipelines? Your mother?

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

I don't respect the UN or it's toothless resolutions. HOWEVER, much of the world does respect them and they did have many resolutions that were violated by Saddam. Seems that GW was standing up FOR the UN and defended the resolutions (along with Hillary and everyone else that voted, or did you forget that part?).

Beat me to it. I don't like the UN because as cited they pass many resolutions. SH would violate the terms - deadlines came and passed - the UN did nothing. SH would block UN officials for searches, prevent them from carrying out the terms set forth by the UN - but the UN did nothing but make new deadlines.

Joint coalition forces did the job the UN refused to do.

The violations were an excuse to invade, not a reason. Iraq provided no imminent threat to America or Americans. You know it and I know it. You cannot pick and choose what you like and what you don't from the same body. It's every bit as disingenuous as those who do the same in regard to the Bible. You either respect both the UN resolutions and the UN response to violations, or you respect neither. I choose the latter, and support withdrawal from the UN. I don't know how well you understand the history of events in the region. At the very least, you should read the 9-11 Commission Report if you have not done so already. Beyond that, you'll find BWOT a wealth of information on the subject. We probably have close to 100,000 posts on the topic of Iraq. It is an old debate long since played out. BTW, you lost.

And please -- don't confuse me with a democrat: Hillary Clinton -- War Pig.

Sorry GS. He was in violation and someone with nuts needed to take the trash out. The Euroweenies sure wern't going to do it. It's called pre-emptive and in some cases it's the right thing to do. Could it have been handled better? You bet. Should it have been done one way or theother? You bet. Should the UN and their supportive Eurotrash handled it instead of us? You bet. We wasted lives and treasure on people who don't appreciate it.
