I'm pretty sure that this title has graced this forum before, but I have found something that works and I figured that I would share.
As a background I will state that I have been smoking Camels without filters for about 45 years.... yea I know.... I should have died a long time ago.
About two years ago I decided to attempt to quit smoking and my own idea of how to quit painlessly was to stop buying factory made and start rolling my own as I needed them. I did this figuring that when it became too great of a pain in the ass that I would eventually ween myself off.
The problem was that I couldn't roll a cigarette to save my life and was once stopped at a traffic light when a cop pulled up next to me and saw what looked like a joint sticking out of my mouth. I laughed like hell when he rolled down his window, stared and said to me, "You're a little old for that aren't you? ... Pull that car into the parking lot".
He turned on the lights and came over and I handed him my cigarette. He smelled it and said, "What is this"? I handed him the can of Bugler and smiled. He laughed, said he was sorry and hoped I understood. I did and went about my business.
I eventually bought a gizmo that stuffed the tobacco into paper tubes and it worked well, but made it very easy to have a cigarette anytime I wanted with hardly any effort. The other thing was that a can of tobacco was about 10 bucks and the tubes were a buck for 200. Now I though that I was saving tons of loot and really was. And though I was smoking about 1/4 what I did with the factory ones I still had a 'crawl up the wall" desire to smoke when I wanted to.
On the beginning of April the once cheap can of tobacco now went from $10 to $35 due to some strange taxes and now the appeal was somewhat gone.
So! Instead of buying cigarettes or the makings for them I purchased something called Commit
which is a nicotine lozenge.
And though it came with some pretty detailed instructions I decided to "fast track" myself and use them as needed.
I will say that I always smoked no less than a pack a day..... every day, and a whole lot more if I was drinking. I have also been known to get up in the middle of the night and upon finding that I was out drive 20 miles to the all night store just to get my "fix".
The first day I took 4... which is less than half what they recommend and ever since then even less. Today I had one only and have absolutely no desire to smoke. Though I must say that the partial box of Cohiba's is near by I don't want them either.
I do highly recommend this product for anyone wishing to stop and am very pleased and downright surprised that they actually do work. I only wish I found them earlier!
