I enjoy disabusing the naive of their illusions. By your own definition, moderates are always behind the curve, waiting to see how the extremes fall into place. Believe me, there isn't any good in some situations; you have to avoid the bad exclusively. This kind of moderation amounts to namby-pambyism and is truly only understandable among the youth who lack the life experience to have developed a sense of integrity. By the time one is in their 40s or 50s, at the latest, one should have developed a sense of personal ideology. By that I mean you have a sense of how the world works as a basis for your decisions and opinions. Claiming to be a moderate at any thing at this age is living your life with the goal not to offend anyone.
