Given the circumstances under which G.W.Bush stole the election twice, the best the right wingers could do right now is to STFU.
Yeah of course. Never mind the fact that every recount that was done shows that the votes for Bush outnumbered the votes for Gore in Florida. I guess that is just a small detail you don't want to admit.

Kinda, maybe, but not exactly.

Study of Disputed Florida Ballots Finds Justices Did Not Cast the Deciding Vote - The New York Times

But in each one, the margin of victory was smaller than the 537- vote lead that state election officials ultimately awarded Mr. Bush.

Gotta be frustrating trying to force a position without being one of the players and having all the information to KNOW what went on.

But good luck on banging that drum. Did you ever read the parable about the boy who cried wolf?

Ya know, I get accused of splitting hairs on occasion, but really......

1. Charges are just that, but typically they aren't brought lightly. Thus, the CA's office has to have a reasonable basis to bring the complaint.

2. You can call it registration fraud if you like. I haven't read Nevada statutes (and don't care to), but it probably is all cataloged under a section concerning "voter fraud".

3. Defending ACORN for setting up a system that encouraged mischief is as bad as Jay defending W's misstatements by saying he knew what he meant. Bottom line is that ACORN at the least bent the rules and skipped past the envelope of propriety...and under basic principles of agency law, they are responsible for the actions of their employees while in the course of discharging their job duties. Did it have an effect on the outcome of the election? Doubtful. Should we turn a blind eye to it and encourage such conduct? Does that justify their BS? No, and no.

4. By all means, continue to split hairs. After all, that characterizes the generic stupidity that characterizes BWOT.

Nit picker here.

I'm wondering if there's a difference between a hair splitter and a nit picker.

Hmm...
from TheFreeDictionary

Hairsplitter

hair·split·ting (hârspltng)
n.
The making of unreasonably fine distinctions.

******************

Nitpicker

nit·pick (ntpk)
intr.v. nit·picked, nit·pick·ing, nit·picks
To be concerned with or find fault with insignificant details.

Of course, I never get to decide whether something's significant or not.

Perhaps we need a poll?

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Well I'll chime in, being from Chicago area.
The state of Illinois is now considered to be the most corrupt state for politicians, bar none.
That said it is common place to say " Yeah but the other offense is much worse, and why do we waste our time on this?" Simple. Corruption is corruption. When you see it, you call em on it, wether it's Acorn, Blagojovich, Obama not following through on campaign promises, or your local mayor misappropriating funds, or falsifying documents(got that in my town and few care).
Too much of the corruption in the Chi-town area has just been overlooked as "Business as Usual". It causes the complacency we have now. The lack of voter input, and the soon deterioration of rights, and so on.
So when you say " But 'they' got away with worse!" and don't get upset, you are part of the problem.
