Two points.
  • First, in its current configuration GOP and THINK don't overlap.
  • Second, Mitch McConnell and reality don't overlap. His priorities are, in order 1)Republican Party, 2) Fundraisers, 3) America, 4) Constituents. [by the way, apparently after asking that priority question at a local fundraiser I am on some "list" now]. My work is done.

Let's be clear about one thing: GOP, as it stands right now, represents only the interests of the rich. Middle class working men and women are irrelevant, except when their vote is needed to attain the GOP goals.

Oh I wouldn't go that far to say the middle class is irrelevant.... since they are needed to do the dirty work to make the rich richer..........

Yet for some odd reason there is a group of folks [let's call them joe six pack] who have aligned with at least some element of the party, mainly based on a stump promises to "lower taxes" which they did for those above $100K and to "reduce gubmint" which they never have but it somehow sounds really good.

And then they promise a "strong defense" even though both parties seem to provide just about equal defense when you get right down to it. Our asymmetrical enemies don't seem to care or fear whoever is in the house.
