I fully understand sarcasm. It requires delivery to be effective.
I was opposed to bankruptcy because so much gets unwound and blown apart that is not considered in the easy, flip "just let them Ch.11" throwout lines that so many folks seem to find convenient. They are convenient, for everyone but those on the short end of the stick. And with Chrysler that is going to be lots of folks and that in turn is going to be monies that will NOT fuel the recovery of the economy.
So I would have preferred to see a more paced restructuring that made everyone whole, instead of the impatience of a few bondholders that forced the issue.
The bid/offer was 40c/29c I have read, so for one billion more or so, it could have been a done deal. I would say some ego's were bruised at the end and negotiations fell apart.
Oh, and you should have used rim instead of hatchet. THAT would have given it the sarcastic ring you were looking for.
No, no, no, most here would definitely not get it then, right Shane ?
