Oh well, I guess I'll stick with my IHI Insurance that has paid for everything so far, premium for the wife and I was only 2500 USD for the last year but I am told the premium will increase by 18 to 20% this renewal in October.

Yeah but more like this webpage, https://global.ihi.com/health+insurance.aspx they were officially bought by BUPA in late 06 and officially taken over by BUPA as of Dec. 08. Their current policies are decent but mine is one I have had for 14/15 years and I get a reimbursement of 12,000 USD (per year) for out patient meds that was part of the old policy. It helps since I take a handful of expensive meds twice a day for my kidney transplant.

With your current medical condition, what amount would you be willing to pay annually for coverage?

I think you're missing his point. What I'm getting out of his post is that it is ridiculous to assume that just because the US has half the world's wealth that it should take responsibility for the rest of the world. Extrapolating a little further, if that point is ridiculous, it is equally ridiculous for wealth the be redistributed within the US from the wealthy to the poor.

I think he's agreeing with you and using a top-down example to explain himself as opposed to a bottom-up example.

They are projecting that Harlan County will have 98% running water and 92% sewer by 2013.

And almost everyone has electricity now, except for a couple of hollows.
Coincidentally, a decade or so ago I worked on a religious mission to Evarts, helping people weatherize their homes.

The biggest problems we are facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all and that’s what I intend to reverse.
