Sure there are 2 faced folks. It's again, human nature. Ya do what you can to combat that in yourself. You don't always win, and some lose more battles than they win.
You see, we have an adversary who does his best to confuse matters. The same adversary that has messed up this entire world, so he has experience. He even tempted Christ. So if others, (and I ) screw up, we hopefully clean it up and try again.
No, I deserve no credit.
Yes, I know the game, but lose as well on occasion.

I am not the stranger to Western religion that you are to Eastern religion. I have always contended that the crux of what it means to be Christian is personal devotion to the teachings of Christ, and not just on some ethereal plane distinct from our daily lives. It has been my experience that very few people who consider themselves Christian, embrace their faith in that light.

Germanstar.
There are a lot of church participants who go through the motions, and don't havve the personal relationship with the Lord. They are in the church because their family was or because they married into it. There are others who take the relationship serious, and I have repeatedly said, "the church doesn't matter".
It seems tragic events or personal issues draw folks close for a time, and some fall back.
Human nature again.

I do think more embrace their faith than you really notice, but because of chastisement from those around them, they tend to lay low or try too hard to fit in to the secular crowd. Christian beliefs are no longer popular or as common as in times past.

What is occuring is a extremely rapid growth in areas like China and in muslim strongholds. Were talking in the 10's of thousands a week in some areas. Will the numbers peak, and level off? Dunno. Rest assured(or be concerned) Jesus Christ is stretching out and a Spirit outpouring is happening.

I will be in good company when I leave this world, but in the mean time, I REALLY am enjoying life , so no hurry. And being a motorhead doesn't hurt either.

Don't put yourself on a higher plane just because you have studied eastern religions. I have done some deep study of the philosophy you speak of and I find it hollow. It is good for personal self awareness but little else. For some people, maybe you, it is all they want in life. I seek more and am not done yet.

Is that what I did? Do my posts have some strange alternate meaning in the language of Stuish?

I thought I suggested that if one does not do his/her best on a daily basis to emulate Christ by following his teachings, he/she has not truly embraced Christianity. Further, allow me to add that that seems to cover about 98% of the self-proclaimed Christians I have encountered in my life.

(Note the absence of hierarchy and planes and self, and did I mention hierarchy(?), in the above, as well as my prior post... BTW don't let me forget hierarchy. This whole better than, worse than, higher than, lower than thing you have going is very Western, and very you.)
