Very sincere, Jim
I just don't find it a legit issue.
In war, many horrific things take place and if they can be lessened I am all for it.
Wars were part of biblical writings as well, and I know David was quite the warrior and blessed by God. Unfortunately I think there are certain things worth a fight, and protection of our own land and family are among those issues. BUT, you sure don't start the fight. You do your best to divert it.
How this justifies in new testament writings is somewhat of a mystery to me, and I have to step back and vote for the lesser evil. I don't however claim to have your answer, but you want to put me in a box, as if I stand for torture. Said before, I don't.
Then it gets dicey when deciding the lesser of evils again if I think sleep deprivation or similar items are torture. I don't buy that it is, and if it saves lives, then it is the lessor of evils. BUT There has been no definition given to torture in this poll and it came from the PEW research center, and CNN, with little explanation of the things I questioned. This bantering back and forth could be considered as torture, if loud music or sleep deprivation can be. It's a matter of degree, it is not an off/on switch here.
So now that I have said this, I will be labeled, but be assured I will be labeled incorrectly. You've done that yourself.
Nope not playing the victim, but do know where I stand in the scheme of public opinion.
Are all of my thoughts set in stone? By no means, and I learn every day.
Also to you Jim. Your afterlife is far more of an issue to me than your earthly comfort, yet nitpicking on the trivial continues.
If I've got things wrong in areas, you need to at least get them right, for yourself.
