What surprises me is that Buick gets a pass. Pontiac has had some success in road racing, even though their cars are the same union-grade plastic shit they've been since the late 80's.
My first ever car I 'owned' was a 1977 Pontiac Firebird, in primer brown, complete with organic weight reduction (rust in the floorboard, etc). The first car I financed was a 1988 Pontiac Trans-Am, 5.0L TPI, red, T-tops, color-matched GTA wheels. 1988's body and trim looked the best of any in that era, in my opinion.
The space ship version of the TA that Shane bought is ignorant in every regard. The Grand Am and Grand Prix were total shit, no matter what they call them or how big the engine is.
What I find doubly depressing is that the only marques producing the sexiest new American roadsters - Saturn and Pontiac - are doomed. The gal that designed them should have no trouble finding work.
