Allow me to interject my beliefs here, since I see it happen so often on other threads and forums...
This has been a difficult personal debate for me, but I feel that my thoughts make sense on both sides of the spectrum here.
A MARRIAGE is a union between two people in the eyes of God. since the bible clearly states in Leviticus that homosexuality is wrong in the eyes of the Lord, then a MARRIAGE of two people of the same sex cannot and should not happen.
However, seeing that our government is supposed to have a Separation of Church and State, and common law marriages are legal to the state, then a legal union between two people of the same sex could be something that is legal.
I don't agree with homosexuality, nor will I ever...but when you look at the Separation of Church and State, and what a real marriage is versus a legal union, then the two are in fact separate.
I'm not a real dickhead...but I acted like one in high school.
