Just Saw an new R8

Just parked on the street, sharp looking car. Audi took a few chances with the design, but I think it works as a whole.

Anyone seen one in person or driven one?

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)

I've seen one, and taken pics, but they're in the other computer. I'll try to remember to post.

I've seen plenty in Europe and in Dallas and L.A. I asked a drunk big fella outside a billards bar two weeks ago to go tell two guys who pulled up in an R8 that they look like a pair of fags in such a sissy car. He actually did it! They appeared scared. Pussies.

I have seen one up close in Singapore and a good friend who works for Audi/VW corporate took one out on the company track in Germany, said it handles incredible and when you floor it, it will dislocate your neck. He loved it. Due to his being called back to Germany from Japan to oversee the Porsche/VW integration he will miss out on getting the R8 he ordered as his company car in Japan but knowing him, he will swing something just as exotic in Wolfsburg.

Photobucket is your friend – OTOH you could blow up the thread.

I respect Audi and think they’re the most improved car company but I’ll pass on the R8, not quite my taste.

It is hideous and not modern at all. The A8 though is fantastic.

That mega-grill treatment definitely looks better with black. Not really my cup-o-joe, but it's probably a blast to drive. At least VAG is still out there attempting to push limits, unlike Toyota, which is really floundering with just gawd-awful designs and an overly bloated SUV lineup. I've really come to despise that company almost as much as GM
