Those fuckers just banned me because I called someone a smart ass! This was after the smart ass was being a smart ass! I has accumulated a few demerits for insulting a mod in a PM after he insulted me on the forum and encouraged other members to do the same. What a douche bag!
This place seems quite a bit more lenient than over there. I don't plan on throwing around insults, but I'm not the type to turn the other cheek either. Anyway, hello Benzworld!

Which forum were you in when all this was going on? The Open Discussion forum will give you a little more leeway than the other more technical forums, but all in all the owners at MS have opted for stricter rules about this sort of thing because at the end of the day the site exists to sell parts - it is a business.

Well, its a mighty dumb way to run a business by chasing away your potential customers. He actually had a pretty good business idea when the internet was in its hay days. He started the forum to attract MB owners and enthusiasts and was relatively successful. They even own a shop at one time and I was a faithful follower to everything MBShop till they imposed all the rules, then the fun was gone and so was I. I stop by there once every couple months to see what is interesting and barely post any more.

I've heard banning is pretty frequent there.

Maybe, maybe not. Maybe removing a few people makes the whole site appear more professional? Maybe that attracts more people to do business with them than it repels? I don't know. They seem to be doing well enough.
I'm not defending their choice of rules or more importantly how moderators apply those rules. I'm defending their right to set whatever rules they want. It is their website - their business - and they pay the associated costs. They get to set the rules and live with the consequences, good and bad.
If you don't like the rules in someone's sandbox, you pack up your toys and find another place to play.
