I quoted a single passage of yours and responded to it. Go back and look, I did not respond to anything I did not quote. Thus your response is evasive, meaningless tripe that does nothing to defend your stated position that Obama is the same as Bush.
I think Obama is not like Bush at all. Bush at least had competent people in his administration for the most part. You and other may not have agreed with the policy, but there operation was at least competent. I would gladly applaud Obama for AT LEAST HAVING A COMPETENT GROUP OF PEOPLE if I could. About the only person who has not royally screwed the pooch is DefSec Gates!
But OK, explain the association with policy and how it is likely to impact your life. Tell me this isn't just some petty little incident you absorbed while ingesting thought beams from your AM radio.
The association with policy and the Obama's Administration inability to operate competently is very large and very important. It speaks volumes that you can not see that incompetence on the part of Obama's Administration harms our country. Not to mention the old Chicago politic play of Denying what is in video evidence. He denies this so then how can the American people trust him much less a foreign leader.
Obama isn't my boy, I didn't vote for him and I'm certainly no Dem. But I do have enough respect for my country and its political process to allow my legally elected president some room to maneuver, room he earned last November, in case you don't recall.
I voted for Obama because I wanted the American People to see once and for all that the Democratic Party is not the answer to the Republican Party. The Republicans proved that they, as a party, are incapable of governing. To that end, I will trumpet just as loudly as you, FTL, McBear, et al did about Bush's mistakes when Obama makes mistakes.
But let me take this a little bit further. Are we to excuse everything Obama does that is harmful to this country? If not then what are we not supposed to excuse? What is acceptable harm to the country and what isn't?
As I see it, this is how America works: two political parties hoodwink the American public into believing we live in a Democracy by holding a sham election between candidates stamped and approved by the corporate powers-that-be. Once the election is decided, both sides come together to support the victor. If both sides do not come together to support the victor, the system becomes increasingly disjointed and ultimately fails.
I agree, but the system that fails is the Corporate Political System. The problem is that our current selection of parties is absurdly Homogenous! Bush started us down this path, Obama is only mashing the accelerator to the floor!
Do I like Obama's domestic agenda? Absolutely not, it scared the hell out of me before the election and continues to do the same. But I'll still grant the opportunity to achieve that he earned last November -- it's the American way. Try to get behind him and hope he's smarter than you. There will be plenty of time to rail against policy if he fails, and we'll be none the better for it.
If you do not like the agenda then why do you support it with your excuses of giving him "room to maneuver"? The American way is to voice your opinion and stand behind your principles IMHO. And I think that you have said something very prescient. "Hope that he is smarter than you." I knew that he was a smart man but what a leader needs is Wisdom. Many people pointed this out but not many listened. FDR had wisdom. Wisdom is intelligence with context. Obama does not have that so we get idiots like Geitner, Clinton, Sebelius, etc.
I've been listening to the right bitch and moan about Obama since before he took office. Do as you wish, I'll hold any harsh criticism off for a while. I afforded Bush the same courtesy, even after the incredulous outcome of the '04 election.
And this is where we differ. We were not in 2004, in the situation we are now. Quite simply, Obama does not have the luxury of "feeling it out" or "Learning as he goes."
Christ on a popsicle stick man! The vaunted Obama who was made out to be the most intelligent man since Einstein is having to learn as he goes. What are all these idiot he hired from the Clinton Administration doing? Sitting around with their thumbs up their collective asses? That tells me that if he brought on these old Washington hands and he is still making these mistakes in foreign diplomacy as well as domestic, he isn't listening to them. Clinton at least was correct when he went abroad.
Obama's team is giving the distinct impression that they are Googling "How to introduce yourself to the King" when they land Air Force one on the Tarmac!
