The man I saw would argue one side because Bill-O took the other. And from what I've seen of both, Bill-O actually seems the less partisan of the two.

Bill O is an asshole. How anyone can tolerate his bile spewn hatred of everything is beyond me.

I think Olbermann and many others of his left leaning media entertainers are going to be out of a job if they don't learn to pick on the Democrats. The real issue here is that while Bush and company was in power and dismantling the Constitution and bungling one thing after another, I don't recall Bill-O screaming bloody murder. I seem to recall him supporting most of those issues. I could be wrong though, since I found it difficult to watch him berate and shut down guests who didn't agree or sit there and agree they had deficient DNA for having an opposing view.

Bill-O is a lot more sinister and insidious than Olbermann. Where would Olbermann be if a female underling went to the prosecutor with recorded messages left on her phone like Bill-O's assailant did? Does Olbermann sell his anti right wing shit as goodies on his website? Bill-O is slick, but manipulative and dangerous. His tiptoeing on the other side of the aisle now and then is done as part of the manipulation as he tries to insinuate credibility. Nothing he says is genuine - it is all business and all for effect. Olbermann only wishes he could be Bill-O's equal under that yardstick but can't seem to do what is necessary to get there.

Bill-O is a humorless prick, apparently catering to folks who like humorless pricks. I don't get it, I never did. I have seen him several times on shows other than his own though, and while still a humorless prick, does come off a bit more thoughtful and less partisan than one might expect.

Olbermann seems a guy who could write his own ticket in any of several venues. He has a solid resume with ESPN, or could front his own show alongside Stewart and Colbert. He's funny, quick, and wicked smart (easily the smartest of that genre, IMO). It's hard to be sure if the degree of his partisan hackery is an act (a Bill-O parody) or genuine, but I suspect he's overplaying his hand on that score for entertainment effect. Honestly, before the election, he was so far left, he was just lying down flat.

My understanding of the Olbermann/Bill-O thing is that he does it just to harass Bill-O ever since Billy made dumb comments about MSNBC. So now he just has it as a part of his shtick.

I happened to catch about 20 minutes of Glen Beck on the radio a couple weeks back (first time ever). At first, he was making a salient point, and basically holding his own while doing so, but after that topic was played out, the man began literally babbling the word "socialism" over and over again for several minutes in a bizarre exhibition that would have left the Rain Man speechless. Frankly, this incredulous waste of air time left me speechless as well. I just can't imagine any sponsor backing that play.

That is nothing, catch an hour of his show on FOX and see the look in his eyes, it is real entertainment, he means it, makes Bill O actually look and sound sane.

The sad part is that this clown has no concept what socialism really means and how it can be beneficial to any society if applied appropriately where it counts. For example, the Medicare and Social security are purely socialist programs and they happen to work very well in this country and no right winger would ever dream about giving up their opportunity to take advantage of either one. Including Glenn Beck and his family.

Every modern nation needs a social safety net for its citizens to guard them against catastrophic illnesses and events.

According to Glenn Beck, nationalization of banks is synonymous with a cataclysm of immense proportions that will in his view end the world as we know it. But that is exactly what you should do (at least temporarily) when unscrupulous crooks run the country's financial system into the ground, instead of maintaining the status quo and throwing trillions of taxpayer's dollars into a black hole. Imagine, having credit card interest rates capped at 4% if the bank were nationalized temporarily in this crisis, instead of having them skyrocket to 32% under our present private enterprise system. What would we do? What would we do without such capable and bright minds and their guiding light? These bastards are getting money at ZERO% right now and charge people 32% on credit card debt that they helped to get them into through their predatory lending practices? And this is the ideal situation according to this moron Beck?

And I'll add something that I have said to other posters here now and again. Each petty attack on the right or failure to swap sides as events dictate harmed his credibility. I realize he has air time to fill, thus must make something out of nothing on slow news days, but IMO, his extreme partisanship is beyond contestation.
I can't stand the guy either, but he's salve to lefties that want some kind of answer to O'rielly.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
