It's said that deer _hate_ rosemary, and it has supposedly been used to 'fence' them away from gardens. Besides, it's a very versatile herb for cooking many meats. Those little " Mini Christmas Trees" you get around the holidays are actually rosemary bushes.

What variety are those tomatoes? I was going to buy "ugly ripes" or "beefeaters". Those look like the ugly ripes but larger than I've seen.

the hanging toms produce nice large fruit and faster then the ones in the ground but you have to support them or they will break apart.

beefeaters are good and produce huge, and i mean HUGE, tomatoes. i pretty much grow those every year too along with bg boy or big girl and romas. a few years ago a grew a different variety of romas that were all meat.. they were great for making pasta etc.. can't locate their seeds and i sure don't recall what kind they were.

spaghetti squash is good but not all that it may be cracked up to be.. large vine that can be trained but still take A LOT Of room.

i always grow a garden.. my asparagus is just about to kick in.. may even harvest some today.. i already have peas and lettuce, spinach, radishes etc.. in the ground and coming up.

i am also getting into some heirloom seeds so i'll have a few different plants this year. outside of those i'll grow all kinds of stuff as i havee quite a bit of garden space.

i also have an herb garden with all kinds of things in there.. epazote being the most "exotic" of the bunch.

oh, one word of warning on the manure.. it has to be aged or it will burn (kill) your plants.

When my wife asked me to start a garden, the first thing I dug up was an excuse!
