I typically hate live albums, but...

Frank Zappa - "The Best Band You Never Saw In Your Life"
Lyle Lovett - "Live In Texas"
And yeah, Eric Clapton - "Unplugged"
U2 - "Rattle & Hum" (what, it had Live songs)

I saw a concert by Peter Gabriel in HD filmed in Italy, called "Growing Up Live Tour", that I feel was simply the most brilliant, visually immersive, technically stunning, and emotionally powerful performance by any group of human beings ever. If you ever find & see it, you'll know what I mean.

Saw them In Soldier Field right after I attended Lincolns Address if I recall. Lonesome Dave stood on a pedestal and opened with Slow Ride. AMAZING!! Yosey, you're a tough crowd.

How could you put this before Roxy & Elsewhere? Are you trying to be a rock & roll smartypants?

^ It had the best version of "Illinois Enema Bandit" I'd never heard in my life.

Iron Maiden - Live After Death. Get the harder to find version that includes the 5 additional tracks recorded at London's Hammersmith Odeon, where they performed a few older songs for the older fans.

Little Feat, circa 75-77, as captured on the Waiting for Columbus album. Screaming guitars, double percussion and the Tower of Power horns. Heaven to a testosterone laden lad, with a hot girlfriend and of course, "Weed, Whites and Wine".

This for me. Wore out two sets on vinyl, one on cassette and still listen to the CD:

Live performances of studio based recordings typically suck 95% of the time. Get over it already.
