We have a few Suns inside.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

In all honesty and seriousness this is a great place to vent and have fun with people who aren't stupid.

My reason for posting in OT was to defend the democratic ideals.
Posting in the other forums, and topics, is for giving and getting information about M-B's
I think I struck a nerve... in a few Republicans!

I'll be forever grateful for the ability to annoy any and all of them!

I stay home a lot due to being old, tired and partly sickly...

This is my coffee club.

I read a lot more than I post. hence my puny post count.

Wow, you can be serious? I never knew that.

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.

I agree with all of this except the wolf pup. In no small part because Jayhawk hasn't found a way to insert himself into a thread where the posters can be part of some bizarre psychological experiment the fat old asshole wants to conduct on all of us for free. A thread not unlike this one.

I've been using BBS' and stuff "like" this for approaching 25 years. The fact that I was able to interact with people who had no idea how old I was, etc., helped me to feel more comfortable with my more adult side and with being inquisitive about stuff other than my dick.

I can only explain my foul mouth away to an upbringing in a part of the country where you curse & cut down others as a survival mechanism. That's how these backwoods morons tested each other - they'd insult the living hell out of you and curse you up one side and down another, in as early as 5th grade. It teaches you a lot of useful skills, but it leaves a lot of pretty permanent scars.

I like coming here because I get to look into a pretty honest mirror. I wouldn't look if I didn't want to know. The company here is pretty special overall. So I've stayed. Maybe one day I'll outgrow this and move on, but I highly doubt it.

And I only use smileys because people have a tendency to misunderstand me in the absence of non-verbal cues. I detest them and think I'd be better served not using them, but when moderators have itchy ban button fingers and lose faith in the ability of adults to be adults (as opposed to easily offended children), I'm not taking the chance anymore.
