Dr David Batty, said the statistics showed "a strong link between cognitive ability and the risk of death."

Jayhawk: I think you've been set up. Dr. Batty? Next you're going to find out that his Psychiatrist at the Looney Bin published the article, noted for subconscious findings which got lost in the translation from the Swede. I don't deny that it very well be true, but if I must an off the cuff comment make, I'd say that so far it's for the birds.

The point is awareness. It USUALLY comes with little gray cells. And that can usually keep you from some accidents. It is not going to keep you from the truck that crosses the median and plows through 10 cars in the opposite lanes unless you are just really quick and lucky.

In Air Force Academy they test you for IQ, spatial awareness and critical thinking skills [how does b relate to n and w when none are static] among other things. IQ is considered only one of the little gates to get in and through.
I see your point. Critical thinking does prevent accidents. I never took an IQ test. I wonder what my score would be. I'd also like to take a before and after IQ test.....

3. Paul Hamm, Gymnast: I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father.

And pray tell, what is the life expectancy of Paul Hamm?

I recall a recent documentary, where the mensa guy with the highest measured IQ worked as a nightclub bouncer.
