The contracts are not with the US government.
Contracts with AIG can be tossed into the trashcan when AIG files for bankruptcy. That's the law in this country. Which country are you referring to ?
Has AIG filed for bankruptcy? No, it hasn't, you clueless fuck. In fact, the whole point of the original Bush Bailout was to keep them in operation as a going concern, because an AIG bankruptcy means the collateral value of a million loans held by thousands of banks would come into question overnight, causing the collapse of the world banking system, but hey, what does that matter when the important thing is your scoring of inane political points? At this point, legally, nothing can be tossed in the trash can. If the fucking idiots you support had negotiated a better bailout bill before heading for the exits, we wouldn't be having this problem.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address
