This thread is getting to be insensitive to the feelings of those being maligned for their religious beliefs, just for the geographic accident of having been born, raised, and living in the best country in the World. Why would a Jew have to move to Israel, where he would have to work as a donkey to earn a marginal living? Why would an Arab have to live under rules that makes your skin crawl when here he can enjoy the freedom of a great livelihood, with access to an education system envied by his peers abroad? Bad politicking is not an excuse to persecute anybody, but the bad politicians. And we do that at every election. Other systems, strange to us as they may be, have to be diplomatically accepted (case of oil to Israel through Saudi Arabia), ignored (case of Tibet-China conflict perhaps) or confronted (case of Bin Laden and the Taliban). In practice, we have another favorite option: meddling, as in the case of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. And I say meddling because we are famous for trying to impose our ways, instead of getting in the shoes of the other parties to understand them before giving them advise, or even opening our mouths. By the way, I am neither Jewish, nor a Muslim. I was raised a Christian but, one thing encrusted in me is the respect for all other beliefs and human beings that respect me. So, by the power vested in me by the state of distress, I now pronounce this thread a tie. You may kiss among yourselves, or whatever turns you on.
