Now that's a principle with which to build a new party ideology.
"I don't believe in theft but as long as the cookie jar is open..."
"I don't believe in rape but as long as she is already passed out naked on the bed anyway"
"I don't believe in murder but as long as it is for the "right reasons" and just against "those people" I suppose it would be OK. "
Now, to the point I have ALWAYS made, there are good earmarks and bad earmarks. It is irresponsible to clump them all together and assume that, because they are in a classification that is known as "earmarks" they must be dubious or bad or made with nefarious intent.
You're becoming quite the extremist mcbear. You're very quick to attack anything GOP and defend anything Dem. BWOT shell shock?
The earmark system is corrupt, therefore all earmarks are corrupt. I know there's a little voice in your head that understands that. Perhaps it will rise above a whisper some day.
If you can't see how a person can take advantage of a system that he generally opposes, that is your shortcoming. Please note that I am not defending Dr. Paul, nor do I agree with his position, but I do understand it.
