1937 Cord 812 SUPERCHARGED Beverly Sedan
ACD CERTIFIED CATAGORY 1 Original Car
On display in the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum for many years
Very original and correct, fitted with original accessory spot light, Radio, driving lights and wind wings
The Cord 810 and 812 models represented a quantum leap forward in automotive design. Gordon Buehrig succeeded in design a truly advanced piece of rolling sculpture, that has breathtaking proportions when viewed from any angle. The cord was Front wheel drive, with a V8 engine on a unitized body construction, that gave it its low sleek sporty stance. The pontoon fenders with retractable head lights was another radical design move that would be the basis for many of the cars from the late 1930's to the early 1940's.
1937 was the final year for the Cord, which was the "Baby Duesenberg" that would hopefully save the company, even few of the cars produced that year would be Supercharged like this car offered here.
Most importantly the Cord offered here is a ACD Category 1 certified original car and is correct in every way. It is eligible to be shown at all ACD events, and is one of the rare Supercharged beverly's. This particular 812 was displayed for many years in the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. It is very original and correct, and still has its Original interior, which exhibits a wonderful patina . The exterior paint has been done for many years and does have some cracks and flaws. The chrome platting is very good on the car. Mechanically the Cord runs well and has benefited from recent mechanical service. The supercharger works and it is an exhilarating car to drive. The pre selector gearbox works well, and the front end is tight and leak free. It is a very solid original example and shows no sign of any rust or visible repairs.
