As a Poobah in the Order of the Sleepless Knights I can say that it is an honor [or honour] no matter why, just THAT you get sword. I had mine cedar wood grilled with mixed veggies on the side. Wait, that was swordfish.



Kennedy is receiving this high honor for a longstanding commitment to peace in Northern Ireland, an effort that helped make the Good Friday Accord possible in 1998.

That should be sufficient whether you agree with his politics or not.

It is my preception that he only distanced himself from the IRA post your 9/11 event.
and some of the firemen who died in 9/11?
How many of them or their families had contributed to Noraid???

i was not unaware that that jibe was near the knuckle
but a lot of very middle of the road unionists were making such comments immediately after 9/11
Re how come Muslim terrorists were terrorists
whilst for all those years Irish terrorists were "freedom fighters"
per certain Irish/Americian perceptions
