^ #14 is patent bullshit. There was no fraud committed. Some workers submitted dubious registration forms, which ACORN labeled as such, and provided to the election boards as they are required to do by law. If ACORN was throwing out registrations, THAT would have them in deep shit.

I'm not an apologist for ACORN, I just hate seeing that issue come up - you'd have to be ignorant to keep making a case out of it. It's bullshit.

If it is occurring, it is a local law enforcement issue. The point of this thread, and my post was eradication of dogma and bias from the original article.

Once the bias and dogma was removed from the item it lost relevance to the article.

Oh please, get over it and get a life you have 4 years of him as President. We had to put up with Bush for 8 years (don''t quite understand how). And you think Obama could be worse than that? Now, the man has only been Prez for a little over a month he hasn't even been able to get ankle deep in the shit pile that was left for him or who ever else WE would have elected. It took Bush 8 years to get us in the mess we are in can't the new guy get at least a year to try to get us out of it before you start the bashing and blaming?

And, yes if I wore panties they would be in a wad...
So suck it up and deal with it.

I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

Refusing to Leave: ACORN Members Step up Fight to Stay in Homes
February 13, 2009

On Feb. 19, ACORN members will launch a new tactic in fighting foreclosures: civil disobedience. Participants in the ACORN Home Staying campaign nationwide will simply refuse to move out of foreclosed homes, or in some cases, will move back in. ACORN homesteaders intend to squat in their homes until a comprehensive, federal solution for people facing foreclosure is put in place.

"What else can you do?" asks Louis Beverly, co-chair of the Baltimore ACORN Foreclosure Fighters. "After you've used all your legal options, your last resort is civil disobedience. We're talking about families who have been in their homes 20 or 30 years. People who are assets in the community, who look out for the elderly, who have community associations, and these are the people being kicked out of...

ACORN Members Disrupt Foreclosure Auctions in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore
February 11, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C.—More than 400 ACORN members from across the country protested foreclosure auctions in our nation's capital and in Baltimore Tuesday, Feb. 10, concurrent with ACORN's annual Legislative and Political Conference in Washington, D.C.

In Washington, more than 120 ACORN members disrupted two foreclosure auctions going on at the same time in the same block.

At one auction, ACORN members disguised themselves as auction bidders, then as additional ACORN members marched in from the outside, those inside joined in the protest. The auction was stopped for nearly an hour.

At the other auction, one of the building's owners, angry that a foreclosure auction was going on in his building, got into a shouting match with the auctioneer and told him he had to leave. The auctioneer then tri...
ACORN Members Disrupt Sales of Foreclosed Homes
January 16, 2009

With many members facing foreclosure themselves, hundreds of ACORN members in 18 cities disrupted Sheriff's sales of foreclosed homes Thursday, Jan. 15, in many cases preventing the houses from being auctioned.

North Carolina ACORN members held a silent protest at the Wake County Courthouse, where the clerks who auction foreclosed properties refused to come downstairs to conduct the sales in front of the families and news cameras. Nearly an hour later, when they thought all ACORN members had left, the clerks proceeded with just seven of the 20 sales scheduled for the day, the other 13 sales having been postponed by the protest.

In St. Louis, 30 ACORN members and allies including the Equal Housing Opportunity Council and SEIU filled the lobby of the court building housing the Sheriff's of...

ACORN-Backed Foreclosure Counseling Program Saves Homes in Pittsburgh
January 15, 2009

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Pittsburgh ACORN members are celebrating a rule effective Jan. 12 that begins a court-supervised foreclosure mediation program, which could save hundreds of families from losing their homes to foreclosure in Allegheny County.

"The court order now requires a conference between lender and borrower prior to a Sheriff's sale, moderated by a specially appointed Allegheny County Judge," said ACORN member Thomas Brennan. "The goal of that meeting would be to modify high-cost and adjustable rate loans into affordable fixed rate loans. The plan is to make both sides winners. The borrowers stay in their home with an affordable payment and the lender gets a performing loan."

Brennan is the leader of Pittsburgh ACORN's foreclosure crisis campaign. A volunteer fi...

I don't believe in excuses, so in my opinion it applies to all of us and them. We are the ones who have elected the people who run our government and if we don't like what they are doing "vote" differently in the next election. We are the ones who put these people in office and we are the ones who can take them out. But, if you don't "vote" during all elections you really don't have a lot of reason to complain. It goes all the way form Prez to your local school board. If you don't speak up, then you should shut up. You may not change things in a day but you may in the long haul and isn't that what really matters? Leaving a better legacy for your kids. But, like I said that is "my" opinion. And, if you don't agree that's fine, we are all entitled to our own opinions and views on life.
I didn't say I was Obama's biggest fan but it is what it is and I'm gonna give him a shot to turn things around. And, if he doesn't then we vote him out.

I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

You need to learn the definition of Socialist before bringing it to a discussion.
