My W126's Shedmate (Old Toyota)

Well this has been my labour of love for the last 3 or 4 years.

It's a 1984 Toyota Supra... Originally a 2.8l SOHC 6 (5M, 103kW)... pretty lame, but the 7M uses the same block etc so very easy swap in.

Suspension wise, it's very similar to the W126 in the rear, with diff and rear suspension the same design.

It is a daily driver but I try to see the track when I can. I've spent heaps on it, and am looking forward to finishing it and spending dough elsewhere.

It has blown 4 headgaskets, prompting the full rebuild. Should never blow again....

I tried to modify it "In it's era", with no rice or things that look out of place on an 80s car. Don't want any rice or bling or that crap.

Well I bought it like this, with a 7MGTE I6 DOHC 3000cc Turbo and full 3" exhaust from the turbo back.

I put the unpainted front nosecose back on for RWC and rego.

Then it blew it's 3rd (this one being metal) headgasket.

After some time someone decided it was cool to run into me.

Thankfully for insurance, it then looked nice!

Then I added a bigger intercooler and Ed's old brake and wheel pack:

Then it had all the paint and interior ripped out, and became this:

Then after three years, at Sandown Raceway (Melbourne) the 4th headgasket went on the back straight at just over 200km/h.

So the engine was (is being) fully rebuild w/ forged pistons and a full balance. New everything... Plus I did most of the work myself which was great fun.
