RESPONSES TO BABY BOO
Given your apparent visceral fear and hatred of everything Muslim, any compromise of the substance of being America is worthwhile as long as tens of thousands of Muslims are killed.
Please enunciate how any of the steps you laud above in GWB's path to morph America into war mongering, national socialist society like Germany morphed into after the Weimarer Repulik, or Israel is today, have directly resulted in America being kept safe. Seems to me you don't get it. America is becoming what we used to detest, and your rationale is that makes us "safe?" "Give me Liberty or give me death!" What happened to that? And, how safe are the thousands of dead and maimed US soldiers sent to Iraq?
The cost of this Bush blunder in human life, America's self respect and ability to look ourselves in the mirror, dollars and our credibility with our allies can not be justified by some cheesy line about safety based on having inspired millions of additional people in the world to actively hate America. That those people have yet to attack us is hardly anything to be happy about since that population is growing faster than the population of the world's citizens willing to die protecting us.
Your contention is ridiculous. I don't know if you actually believe your own propaganda, but it's disingenuous and silly. Continue your list from Post #24 back to 1980, and show how and when the Bush administration kept us from an established pattern of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. Status quo. The 9-11 attack was an aberration, and not representative of an established pattern. And again (this is no small point), the 9-11 attack could and should have been stopped at our border. Thus it is clear that the only issues requiring attention to prevent a subsequent attack were those of border security, which were to some extent addressed.
You're right, I stand corrected, although most of the injuries resulted from the subsequent evacuation rather than the attack itself. And all things considered, the attack still stands as a failed attempt.
Excuse me? Do you have some explanation for that statement, or is this how you react to having your ass handed to you (despite an egregious error on my part) in a heretofore civil debate?
I am not interested in assigning blame, but you are. I have neither blamed nor exonerated anyone. That is your forte, ill-advised and misdirected as it is.
(Pssssst, hate to break it to you, but I voted Bush 41 and Bob Dole, so you may have to find another tree to piss on.)
The United States of America is a nation founded on a set of ideals that don't include the government ruling the people with fear. If the rule of fear is what you crave go find some horrendously scary mate and have them dominate your black little heart just the way you like it, but stay out of American politics. Israel's mode of operating is unsustainable over the long run. We don't need to adopt their methods to be "safe."
Your attempt to relabel your anti-Muslim/anti-Arab/anti-Persian political outlook as something more honorable, or from your particularly narrow and dark perspective "politically correct," as "the global war on terror" falls short of being convincing. If we were in a real war we would have nuked someone by now. We have a record of doing it when we think it is necessary, and I don't have a problem with that, personally. In this situation the fact that no nukes have detonated anywhere is a clear indication we are not really threatened and the "global war on terror" like the term "Patriot Act" is a bunch of careful wording to distract and confuse Americans as our nation is goose stepped down a path to destruction of the very substance that made America unique in human history. And you approve because it ensures more Arabs and Persians die instead of Jews.
You are pathetically transparent and your outlook is disgusting.
I am sure some of the Israeli tactics work, and do not result in the belittling of entire segments of the population. I was referring to your quip that racial profiling was the technique they practice which you most admired and wanted to see put into practice here. But you knew that. Jim
So baby boo,
I was merely borrowing and amplifying a line from your rhetoric a few posts earlier. Maybe it goes down better for you when it is mixed with a little spittle and sugar...."stick to that FTL. Politics is just not your forte...."
Same thought though - your version of rule by fear of all things Arab/Persian/Muslim under the guise of their "murderous ideology" is not a viable/sustainable political outlook because it only ensures more people are brought up to perceive Americans as their enemy while eroding our American uniqueness and values with no detectable benefit to the United States. Sounds like Bush's "Bring it On" slogan describing his approach to dealing with areas of the globe he doesn't understand was one your favorite foreign policy moments.
Apparently I am not the only one who thinks you are a racist and devoid of knowledge. It's funny when you imply that I am an anti-Semite
