This is an outrage

So after 18 electrocution deaths of our servicemen in Iraq, KBR is getting another $ 35 million contract to built another abomination in Iraq? If you did not know, KBR was until recently a subsidiary of Halliburton. And as for the Army Corps of Engineers, please note that Dick Cheney is no longer the Vice president, so somebody other than Halliburton or its former subsidiaries can now be awarded contracts in Iraq. You do not have to suck up to Cheney anymore. What a crock.

They weren't required to follow US building and electrical codes? Wonder whose specifications they were using? I'd say if the system was installed as specified, it's the designer's problem. But, if KBR deviated from the design, they're going to have to be punished for it. Maybe the designer and the installer are one in the same in this case. Who knows?

The Pentagon procurement managers responsible for the continued use of KBR should be required to shower in KBR built equipment, in Iraq.

Let's just get the obvious question out of the way right now. Why would they go to the extra expense of building to US Code while in IRAQ?

Charge for it, YES. Build to it...good luck with that. Those are facilities that are just for soldiers.

Look on the board and management structure of KBR and look at Republican donations to Congressional candidates and Presidential candidates. I believe you will find many of your answers.

The problem is not what code it was built to, but shoddy workmanship resulting in inadvertent grounding of hot electrical wiring. I do not believe that any civilized country on earth has an official electrical building code that when followed, would create conditions for an accidental electrocution while showering.
