Christianity can no more be separated from this nation than could the constitution itself

GOD, probably the one in the King James Bible, not sure tho, go ahead and pick which God you want. That's what it's all about!!!
The founding Fathers were religious people.
You haven't been to Penn Dutch Country. Many still speak it ONLY. And many Native Americans speak both. But then again, most of the Latinos who come over speak both languages so that pretty much eliminates the "Learn it or go back to wherever you came from!" threat since they have learned it. Guess they don't have to leave now, just like their ancestors.

Old joke:
What do you call someone who speaks three languages? TRILINGUAL
What do you call someone who speaks two languages? BILINGUAL
What do you call someone who speaks one language? AMERICAN

As for the god thing, you were the one that said "This country was founded on the belief in one God". The ability to pick from many blows that theory away.

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.

You mean the Amish? Who are very devout in their faith In GOD, remember I live in Iowa, ever heard of the Amana Colonies ? Hardly a burden on our society.

Are we making fun of Americans who only speak English? Am I to be surprised?

GOD goes by many different names to many different people, but GOD is the only one who is the creator.
