If it is a civic, I'd leave it as-is. At least then he can tell the tuner crowd his paintjob is better because it's got 'texture'.

A touch of Turtle Wax should take it all out.

Better still, apply the barbed wire to the body and this will keep kids from leaning on the body.......... and call it the Jesus Mobile.
