That puts you and the you-know-who's in the 13 percent group of true leftist hacks.

CBS Poll: Support For Stimulus Falls, Survey Finds Half The Country Backs Bill, But Support Is Down From January; Obama Seen As Working For Bipartisanship - CBS News

Eighty-one percent of Americans say the stimulus bill should be a bipartisan effort. Just 13 percent think it is okay for a bill to be passed with only the backing of the Democratic majority.

Looks like Obama is in that 13 percent as well. Congrats.
Holding a retreat, when the country is waiting for help, is just so ..... elitist.

Obama rallies Democrats on stimulus - 2008 Presidential Campaign Blog - Political Intelligence - Boston.com
President Obama praised House Democrats tonight for passing their version of his economic recovery plan, saying they
"acted with a discipline" that matches the gravity of the crisis.

"You know what's at stake," he told them, saying when they go home to their districts they see all the struggling families and shuttered businesses. The Democrats are having their three-day annual retreat at the Kingsmill Resort & Spa in Williamsburg, Va. -- and spending $100,000 on the event, according to the Associated Press.

Obama already told the pubs stfu and pass my bill.
That puts him at odds with 81 percent of the American people, which reinforces
my view that he is just another liberal intellectual elite like yourself , which in turn explains your glee when discussing a serious matter.

What I do not understand is why people are celebrating "Governing from the middle."

All that means is that you are doing what is popular and not what is best. Where is the leadership in that?

This is one of the problems with Government. They sit down and spend hours or days or whatever on a bill that is NOT GOING TO DO ANY GOOD.

This is not what they need to be doing. All they are doing is horse trading for the special interest groups.

Government needs to govern based on Principles, not popularity.

Principle number one should be "Will this limit or enhance personal Freedom."

Disgusting.

Unfortunately, Pelousy and the Looney Left turned a noble effort into a political grabfest. Now the Senate has the daunting task of polishing a turd. I like the premise of the 4% mortgage re-fi idea, but have not heard if it will make it into the package (that would personally save me $500/mo). At first glance, most of the stimulus now proposed will not have any impact for years. Long term therapy needs to come after the stimulus. We need a shot of pain relief now!

Indeed, intentionally or not, Obama allowed the socialist elitist Peloosy to shape the stimulus plan right off the bat , while he was pandering to the Bush Hating lib crowd in the first week of his administration.

Bear, do you realize now what a f*cking mess the first week was ?

Gosh. I guess Bush never urged or endorsed a stimulus package. You partisan freaks are flat nuts.
