Of course I support our President and hope that he is successful. But I doubt that he will have much to do w/ how our economy performs. In fact, I am very concerned about the so called stimulus package he introduced. It looks like little more than a liberal wish list--one they are using our weak economy as an excuse to pass.
You have said many times the doom and gloom outlook contributes to the next round of bad news, and in many respects you are correct. Fear itself is what we have to overcome. In your case, it is fear of the liberal boogie man hiding in every nook and cranny, waiting to jump out and steal your wallet. Makes you seem like one of those doom and gloom guys you bitch about.
We all agree there is a problem. We all agree the government is going to spend money to try to deflect us from the path to a depression that is deeper, longer and more dangerous (so many more people) than the Great Depression. As long as the money goes to making jobs so Americans can keep working I don't see the basis for arguing against projects oriented to the concepts of a cleaner environment or reduced carbon emissions or building new roads, bridges and other infrastructure.
I object to handing money to the rich bastards that got us into this, the same guys who handed out $14 Billion of our bailout money to each other in the form of bonuses, when they, by any measure of merit, deserved to be fired, not rewarded with big, fat bonuses.
Get ready. The only way out of this is to devalue the dollar to the point that the past debts can be paid off in full, quickly and painlessly. Rampant Inflation is coming your way - hope you don't have loads of cash on hand come May or June.
